4 January-Ready Outfits That Are Just Plain Easy

Congratulations! You survived the end of 2017 (and all of the sequins that came with it). We reckon you’re now feeling a little fatigued from all of the sparkle and shimmer, longing instead for a clean palette to reset your wardrobe for the year ahead. Yes, it’s time to get back to your usual programming, and that means upgrading your everyday classics with on-trend iterations fit for the new season.

If there’s anyone worth trusting when it comes to a mid-winter wardrobe revamp, it’s New York City’s finest fashion girls. And to assist us with the task at hand, we turned to Manhattan-based fashion blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez, who agreed to show us how she’s layering this season’s take on classic pieces from INC International Concepts at Macy’s to breathe new life into her chic-casual outfits.

In the mood to inject a little trend into your wardrobe? We’re following Rodriguez’s lead—see her 2018-ready looks below.

Crisp shirting can hold its own when you want to keep it simple in the office. We can totally see ourselves pulling on this look on a Monday morning when we have a bit of trouble rolling out of bed (so much for those resolutions, right?). Keep the palette clean with whites and neutrals—they make the perfect canvas for layering. The chic knit Rodriguez layered on top makes the super-easy outfit feel especially 2018-ready. “I love the cool mint color of this sweater with the pearls,” she notes. “Finish the look with on-trend white ankle boots for an elevated outfit.”

Be honest: What really gets more wear in your wardrobe than jeans and a knit top? But that doesn’t mean the foolproof combo has to be boring. Rodriguez keeps it effortless with a weekend-ready sweater (note the pop of white that creates a faux-layered effect sans bulk) while adding in subtly star-embellished jeans (you’ll see the galactic print everywhere this year) and over-the-knee sock boots.

For some extra oomph, Rodriguez added in a fun leather jacket—after all, the classic third piece is the ultimate layering tool for chic but easy outfits. “I’ll be wearing it on repeat this year,” she tells us. “Although it’s simple, it’s a great statement piece thanks to the feminine ruffle detail—a nice change from edgy zippers and moto styles.”
